Mission Mani: Food Pantry Donation
We embark on our next journey to pray for my brother in another holy site, this time in Jerusalem.
When Mission Mani first came to mind, we were in the initial stages of grief.
My family wished to pray for my brother in as many mosques as possible around the world, to not only give ourselves spiritual therapy, but to also aide in Mani’s akhirah (hereafter). As Muslims we believe that good deeds can still be done on behalf of your loved ones, even if they have passed. In fact, there are different types of good deeds one can do that benefit’s the departed’s hereafter, such as donating to the community on their behalf. Initially, we intended to donate to the communities in need in whatever area the mosque we prayed at was.
Now, Mission Mani has become more. We now intend to donate in our own community as well, before we set off on our journeys.
There’s a free clinic in our community known as MASS Clinic. It was started by our local Muslim community and serves the community as a whole, Muslim and Non-Muslim alike. They offer free healthcare and even have a free food bank.
So on behalf of Mani, before we begin our journey to Jerusalem, we have donated multiple cases of one of Mani’s childhood favorite’s, Boost, to the clinic’s food pantry.
