Thank you for taking an interest in him.

Rehman was born on April 12th, 1995 in

St. Petersburg, Florida to our family.

He was the youngest member of the Awan clan.

Rehman completed our family

He was the youngest of three siblings and the only son of our parents. To say my sister and I were excited to have a little brother would be an understatement.

He was always full of energy

As a kid, he would never sit down and was chock full of energy. You could often find our mother chasing him around the house to get him to stop moving for five seconds to eat.

He was tiny, adorable, and loving!

Rehman was everything you’d expect a little brother to be and more. He would tag along with us, give us cuddles if he saw we were upset, and had plenty of sibling rivalry with us. Being the youngest and the the only son, he got away with a lot too.

Rehman was a dutiful and respectful son

He was always pampering our mother and making sure our father took care of his health. He never missed a jummah (Friday) prayer and often times teased our father for being late to the mosque while he had arrived early.

His hobbies reflected his status as a Floridian

He absolutely enjoyed going to theme parks such as Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. He also loved swimming so you could always find him hitting up water parks and the beach.

Here he is boogie boarding with his two nephews.

In 2014, Rehman Ahmed Awan graduated from Samuel W. Wolfson High School

While in high school, he was well loved by his peers and even won the superlative for “Most School Spirit” in his senior year. If there was a pep rally planned, Rehman was usually decked from head to toe in the school colors. He was also a member of the Wolfson International Club. His involvement in the club foreshadowed his drive towards welcoming diversity in education later on in life.

After high school, Rehman enrolled at FSCJ for his Associates Degree.

He aimed to begin his studies at FSCJ with his Associates and then to continue studying for his Bachelors afterward at the same college.

During his time at FSCJ for his Associates degree, Rehman was involved in the Biomedical Pre-Professional Society (BPPS) and regularly volunteered in breast cancer awareness drives.

In his spare time, he also volunteered as a DJ at the Arc in Jacksonville, a special needs facility that “serves and advocates for individuals with intellectual and developmental differences to achieve their full potential and to participate in community life.”

In 2018, Rehman graduated with his Associates Degree in Arts from FSCJ.

Rehman’s greatest passion in life was aviation.

Whether it was flying airplanes on his flight simulator or sitting at the airport watching planes go by, he was enthralled with all things aviation. You could ask him to identify airplanes at a glance and he’d answer with the correct model and specifications each time. Growing up, he often pooled his allowance to purchase airplane models and would make a makeshift runway on the carpet in his room.
